DARK FIBER SOLUTIONS, INC., AND A LEADING CENTRAL NEBRASKA ETHANOL PLANT ANNOUNCE THE COMPLETION OF AN ADVANCED FIBER OPTIC NETWORK AND SERVICES AGREEMENT
Dark Fiber Solutions has teamed up with this leader in the bio-energy industry to bring a wide variety of fiber optic based services to the soon to be completed ethanol plant. The fiber based services range from implementation of a wide-area network, high-speed internet access, to a phone system utilizing VoIP.
"When we were approached about providing services, and were informed that the ethanol plant was nearly out of options for communications services, our team at Dark Fiber Solutions went to work developing and designing solutions for their facility," stated Jack Dixon, President of Dark Fiber Solutions. "They were in a precarious situation, as getting traditional phone lines into their location would be very expensive". "By using the creative talents at DFS, we were able to come up with a much more cost effective solution," added Dixon.
DFS was able to take advantage of the fiber optic network it already had in place and extended the fiber network to the ethanol plant. At that point, DFS tied into their network and began to offer the plant high-speed internet through DFS's network. In addition to having access to the internet, DFS installed a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone system, since they were unable to get traditional phone services at a cost effective price. DFS was able to provide phone and internet access to what was a very isolated location.
